The mission and vision of AAHC is to promote the health and advance the education of low-income and uninsured Asian residents by providing an array of health care and social services in a culturally and linguistically appropriate setting.In 2008, AAHC was established as a major collaborative effort involving CADA, Howard County Health Department, Horizon Foundation, Howard County General Hospital, Montgomery Muslim Medical Clinic and local Chinese and Korean Communities. The main functions include operation of a volunteer clinic providing primary care services for uninsured as well as promote health well-being of Asian Americans. Community health projects participated includes tobacco project, flu shots clinics, Cancer Screening, HBV screening. AAHC served a total of 1290 clients currently. The clinic operates on the first and third Saturday every month. It has a team of volunteer physicians in almost all the disciplinary. Many are well-known practicing at local prestigious teaching hospitals. AAHC strives to accommodate patient needs and has been recognized by the Asian community. Clinic ensures appropriate referrals to providers for patients in need of extensive diagnostic procedures /consultation.
